productsNano-based | Anti-Microbial Barrier (AMB) FamilyPatent Pending
AMB has been specifically formulated as a barrier on substrates and textiles to help reduce the spread of disease. It helps prevent microbial penetration and disease-causing germs from penetrating surface walls, floors, ceilings, table and counter tops, permitting qualifying sterilants to be more effective. Germs are better held on the surface, permitting a more thorough disinfection. AMB is slated for future production.
AMB hard surface uses would include:
- Hospital rooms, doctors offices, dentists offices, veterinary clinics, air handlers, ducts, and screens
AMB textile uses would include:
- Medical and laboratory garments, hospital linens and curtains
- Cross-contamination hospital-acquired diseases are known as nosocomial infections
- A 2004 study of Pennsylvania general acute care hospitals, found that nosocomial infections accounted for 1510 additional deaths, 205,000 additional hospital days, and $2 billion in additional hospital charges
